Team's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Mar 04, 2023

Dear Friends and Family,

Our names are Nicholas Muro and Kaden Fedele. We are honored and blessed to work alongside the Leukemia Lymphoma Society as Candidates for the Student Visionaries of the Year. With that being said we are extremely lucky to be running in honor of Eden; more info on her, below.

I, Nicholas Muro, am a senior at Clovis High School. I am a varsity football player, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) member, leadership council member, and an all-around academic scholar receiving Block C and CSF. I am extremely active in my community volunteering with non–profit organizations such as the California Health Collaborative, Fresno Rescue Mission, and The Woods Mobile Home Park for the elderly.

I, Kaden Fedele, am a senior at Clovis High School. I am a varsity basketball player, and football player, and have achieved many accomplishments academically. These include Block C, the National Honors Society, and CSF. I have volunteered in numerous events around the Fresno and Clovis area which include the Clark Baseball Golf Tournament, Cedarwood Elementary School Carnival, and the Elderly Lives matter program.

From March 2nd - April 21, 2023, our team goal is to raise $150,000 which will go directly to LLS in support of its long-standing goal: a world without blood cancers.  If we raise $50,000, we can link our team name to an LLS-funded research portfolio to honor our efforts to help people with blood cancers. The specific portfolio we are committed to donating to is an AML research facility in honor of Eden and her family.

Many loved one’s in our lives have suffered from various types of blood cancers. These individuals are either currently fighting or passed away from the fight battling cancer. One individual, in particular, is Nicholas's cousin’s niece Eden. Eden is currently fighting acute myeloid leukemia (AML). This particular cancer is extremely fatal, with a survival rate of only 25%. Like many of you, I have witnessed first-hand the wretched effects that leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma can have on those who suffer from these blood cancers, and on the friends and family who care for and nurture their loved ones. There are many reasons to be proud to support LLS’s efforts.

For instance, LLS has helped advance 55 of the 65 blood cancer treatment options approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) since 2017 to date. And many of these LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now approved to treat patients with other types of cancer like breast, liver, colon cancer, and noncancerous diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases. This is an organization that is making an impact with the dollars it raises, and I’m proud to be associated with LLS.

This is where you come in.

You can make a donation in any amount and mail a check payable to 'The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society' (LLS) to 3311 Finchwood Ave. Clovis, Ca 93611. Please note, “Knockout Cancer” in the memo section of the check. You can also make your tax-deductible donation directly on this webpage and follow along with our adventure.

We thank you in advance for supporting this incredible need, we are grateful for your friendship and support.

Sincerely,

Kaden & Nicholas

p.s. Does your company have a matching gifts program that might be willing to match your donation? Let us know!

As a (brain) cancer survivor of almost 17 years, it is an honor, privilege, and blessing to donate to this worthy cause. With God being the ultimate Healer (both in the "here and now" and for the "there and then"), He allows us to participate with Him in His miraculous work . . . so thank you for the noble efforts you are engaging in to join Him in making a miracle happen.
